Bishop Dr. Esaias Merritt
Dr. Esaias Merritt is the only child of Dorothy Merritt and Bishop James Garner Glover in Augusta, Georgia, and is married to the lovely Greta B. Merritt. He is the father of two children, Zachariah Isaiah Merritt and daughter Jade Aiyanna Merritt. He has one grandson, Levi Jackson, and a host of godchildren. He accepted Jesus into his life at an early age.
Esaias completed his primary and secondary education through the Richmond County School system. He attended Alabama State University, studying Music Education, and then Organizational Management at Voorhees College. He has a Master of Divinity from City View Seminary and a Doctor of Theology and Educational Leadership from FMI Biblical Studies and Seminary. Throughout his life, Esaias held several offices and achieved numerous accomplishments, including:
- Board of Directors for City View Seminary
- 100 Black Men of Augusta
- Vice-Chancellor of the Georgia Seminary for FMI Theological Seminary
- 1st Assistant Bishop of Independent Churches United International
- Received the Inaugural Catalyst Award for Community Empowerment from the Columbia County NAACP
- A published Academic Writer and Author of Heaven’s Kitchen, inspiring leaders in churches in discipleship.
Bishop Dr. Esaias Merritt has preached, led music workshops, and trained church leaders across the U.S., Zambia, South Africa, and Panama. His secular work has taken him to other countries, where he has been responsible for developing an after-market network for Mexico and developing new business throughout the United States and Canada.
He is a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and His Sacrifice for our salvation and serves as the Senior Pastor of Macedonia Church of Grovetown.
First Lady Greta Merritt
Lady Merritt attended Augusta State University and later furthered her theological studies at American Baptist College. She graduated with honors from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. In December of 2023, she graduated with a Master’s in Pastoral Counseling from FMI Biblical Studies and Seminary. Lady Merritt serves as the National Evangelist of Independent Churches United International and has expanded her ministry reach internationally by teaching and inspiring women in the United States, India, Liberia, and South Africa.
She is blessed to be married to Bishop Esaias Merritt. She enjoys serving alongside her husband. She has two amazing children, Zachariah and Jade Merritt.
She is committed to serving God’s people. She enjoys mostly empowering and inspiring women. Her motto in life is “Your blessings are as BIG as your faith.”
